A Fun Weekend As a Family!

I don't know if your family is at all like ours, but it is very rare that we have a weekend to spend that is not already all planned out for us. Well, this weekend was just that for us! For once in a LONG time, this past weekend we didn't really have any "have to's", which made it super nice. And the weather was Great, so we got to play and spend quite a bit of time together outside too! Our girls are getting more and more fun by the day. Emily is starting to be more verbal and she is "as sharp as a tack". And our little Haley is starting to smile a lot more and she is even beginning to laugh and coo! Her and Emily love to entertain each other already!

Here's a Picture of Haley on Friday morning just after I got her dressed for the day, she was just laying back on our pillows just Smiling Away! Love that little Tongue too!

Here's Emily sportin' one of her new summer outfits, as she is checking out all of her other clothes as they are hanging up to dry!

On Saturday afternoon we decided to go by Kroger to pick up a couple of things, and on the way in we stopped at Belvedere to take a little walk around the neighborhood and play at the little playground!

Here's Emily looking Cool in her Sunglasses and Hat, All Ready for a Stroll through the neighborhood!

Here's Haley sporting her sunglasses too! I love putting sunglasses on little babies! Their expressions are priceless because they don't realize what is actually on their face!

Of course we could pass by and not let Emily have a little "swing time" on the swing set!

And ever since Mommers and Dooders got their new swing set she LOVES going down the slide!

One of Haley's favorite things to do is to take a bath and she thoroughly enjoys bath time in the kitchen sink for now. Although she is soon going to be to big for the sink! But I LOVE having bath time with her, because she is so happy (in spite of the expression on her face in this photo she was actually having a fun time)! I am sure she will love the baby tub just as much!

Another Close Up of our Adorable Little "Honey B"!

On Saturday afternoon when we got back home from running errands, we decided to water the plants! And boy did Emily enjoy herself! She loved holding the hose, and making the water come out! But her most favorite time was when I filled up a big bucket of water, she LOVED and I mean LOVED splishing and splashing! She got soaking wet, but it was a warm day and it didn't matter!

Here we are watering her little tomato plant together!

After she came inside and got changed and warmed up, she was ready to work again. So she saw the broom sitting out and went to work! She seriously scaled all of our floors! She is such a good helper already!
On Sunday morning she looked so adorable in one of her new dresses that we had to snap a few pictures! I love this shot, just as she is preparing to climb the side of the cabinet!
Another Cute Shot!

I love her expression in this one!
Happy to Have a New Sippy Cup!

Since both girls were happy at the same time, we thought we would take advantage of it and get a little photo shoot in. And since Haley was in her crib and Emily LOVES to get into Haley's crib it worked out nicely for everyone! And Haley only seemed a little nervous!

Emily LOVES being a Big Sister and Haley LOVES having a Big Sister!

Haley is such a little Ham! I love the look on her face!
We were so blessed to have this wonderful weekend together! And we are looking forward to another one soon! There's nothing like spending time together with three of my favorite people in the whole world! When I reflect back on just a little over two years ago and how Micah and I weren't sure we were going to ever be able to have children I feel so blessed to look back and see that Heavenly Father indeed had a very special plan for us and that these two precious daughters were a part of that plan! Timing is everything, and trusting in Heavenly Father's time table, even though it is difficult to do at times, can also be one of our greatest blessings! I am so grateful that I can be together with my family forever!

Day Four of Construction ---Pouring the Concrete

On Friday, May 14, 201o, the FOURTH actual day of construction on our home, they poured the concrete for our basement walls! It is really starting to take shape! Lots more to come this week....as long as the rain doesn't slow them down too much!

Our Basement in Very Unfinished Form!
The Rear Side of our Basement, The "L" Shaped section is where our outside basement steps will be going!!

DAY THREE of Construction!

We stopped by to check out the progress on our new home last night, it's been several days since any progress has been made, and we were VERY happy to see that they had set the framework in place for our basement! Which means the next step will be to pour the concrete for the basement floor and walls! It's coming together and we are getting SO EXCITED!

Here is a Picture of the Framework that set up yesterday! They just have a little more to do on the back right hand wall now! We love our new home already!

Two Months Old Already

Our Sweet Little Haley turned 2 months old on Sunday, Mother's Day! What a perfect piece to our family puzzle she is! She is such a cutie pie! We actually took her in for her 2 month check up at the pediatrician's office yesterday and here are her stats:
Height: 22.5 inches (5oth percentile)
Weight: 11 lbs. 14 oz. (75th percentile) ....she has gained almost FOUR POUNDS in TWO MONTHS!!
Head Circumference: 38 cm (25th percentile)

So as you can tell by those numbers she is DEFINITELY growing like a weed! But she is still mommy's little baby, that's for sure! Micah and I were talking about Haley's accomplishments in her second month and here is what we came up with:
~ Has started to drink a bottle a bit more (although she still prefers Mommy's Milk over Formula any day!)
~ Has started to really smile with a purpose....and not just because of gas:) She even had her first little laugh on Mother's Day, while she and I were playing! It was such a cute moment!
~ She also started taking her baby vitamins a few days ago, and I can't say that she is a big fan yet. She still gags every time we give them too her....and the funny part is that Emily comes over and opens her mouth and points because she LOVES them, even though she doesn't get to have them anymore.
~Also Haley got her first 2 vaccines yesterday, and I must say she took it like a champ! She only let out one BIG scream and then I cuddled her and she was fine! What a little trooper!
~She loves to smile and SLEEP! At night she can sleep for SIX hours at a time (and she does that most nights):) We definitely love that about her:)

Well, I think that hits all the major mile markers of Haley's SECOND month! She is such a blessing to our family! We love her so much! We are grateful for the opportunity to get to know her and grow more in love with her each and every day! We love you little "Honey B"!

Here's Haley with her little Pink Bear at 2 Months!

Thinking about her new little friend!

She is beginning to discover her hands, and I think she may be a thumb sucker too!

Time for a couple Sister Shots! Love the look on Emily's face!

A Great Mother's Day!

It seems like forever since I have had the opportunity to sit down and do a post. Emily and Haley have been keeping me hopping:) They are such sweet girls and they made my Mother's Day this year absolutely wonderful! I am so blessed to have these two sweet princesses in my life. They both are adorable and have such adorable spirits! I LOVE being their Mom!

This year for Mother's Day Micah and Emily went shopping together and surprised me with a Mother's Day Balloon and 12 Beautiful Pink Roses! Oh and they also made me a card with their hand prints on it, which I hear was quite the feat for Daddy....as he was faced with trying to get cooperation out of a 16 month old who hadn't had a nap! But they both did it together and the little card was so cute!

We also went to the Singles Ward for church on Sunday so that we could be there with my Mom! It is always fun to visit our "old stomping grounds". Plus the girls just ate up all the love and attention that they got from everyone there! Then we headed to Mommers and Dooders for a Mother's Day lunch and we also got to spend some time with my brother Jacob and his family as his wife was celebrating her first Mother's Day too!

Overall it was a very nice Mother's Day and I am truly thankful to my Heavenly Father for allowing me the blessing of being a Mommy at this time in my life. I hoped and dreamed about being a Mom for a LONG time, and now I get to experience Motherhood to the fullest with two beautiful children in my life. I am so grateful to be called "Mommy!" (Although Emily doesn't really say that yet, I know one day SOON I will hear it!:) Also on Mother's Day marked the TWO YEAR mark from when we found out we were expecting our first baby. What an amazing memory that is. And now it's hard for me to wrap my mind around sometimes, that we have two beautiful daughters in our home! We truly are blessed! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful women in the world!

A Priceless Picture of our Little "Honey B" ~ who, by the way just started laughing on Mothers Day, May 9th, too!
Emily trying to get into her favorite bouncy seat!

A tender sister moment! I love the look of adoration on Haley's face, too!

And this is usually what happens about 3 seconds into those tender moments!

I love my girls, and their facial expressions:)

Haley was really taking it all in:)

Tiffany and I on the couch with our kiddos! (Gracie must be checking out Emily's graceful pose!)

We went to a birthday celebration for Mema on Saturday too, and here is a picture of us with the girls on Mother's Day weekend! As you can tell Emily REALLY enjoyed the birthday cake, as she still had some left over on the side of her lips! That's my girl! Oh and they were dressed in their adorable green matching dresses because we had just come from a photo shoot done by our dear friend, Leah! It was a great day!

Day Two of Construction

Here are some pictures from day two of construction on our house.
The concrete footings have been set.
Emily swung on the community swing while Haley snoozed in her baby seat.

Emily loves to swing.

Holly and I took turns pushing. That big smile tells it all.

Construction Has Begun!

Well yesterday morning, Wednesday May 5, 2010, about 10:45am, we got a phone call from Lyndsey, the rep. for the Belvedere Development (aka the Future Neighborhood of the Charlottesville Grays) telling us that their crew had begun digging the basement for our new home! Micah and I were so excited, we had to go visit after work yesterday. It is still hard to believe that that hole that we see in these pictures is going to be the basement of our home! It is hard to imagine, so crazy, and so exciting all at the same time that we are having our very own home built! Our dream of owning our own home in this neighborhood started for Micah and I over a year ago when we were out on a Saturday afternoon date while Mommers and Dooders were watching Emily. We saw a sign for an Open House. We stopped, looked, fell in love with the neighborhood and knew that ONE DAY this is where we wanted our family to be! And now we are only months away from living in the Belvedere neighborhood! We wanted to make sure that this exciting moment in our little family's history was recorded!! And we will definitely keep the pictures and the details coming as the unfold, but for now here are a few pictures of DAY ONE of construction!
This one was taken by Lyndsey just moment after digging began! Oh and isn't that portable potty just lovely!!

Here's a shot we took at the end of DAY ONE of construction. In just a few short months that will be our finished basement!
