Emily and Eliza's 1st Fashion Show Together!!

One of the most exciting things that I have been looking forward to since Jessie and I had our little ones so close to each other (just about 10 weeks apart) was being able to have little play dates together!

We just set up our first one last week. And we decided to have a fashion show with our precious little girls! They seemed to enjoy themselves, or at least they enjoyed "playing" with each other!

Can't wait for our next play date!! Hopefully soon!! I feel so blessed to have so many members of our families so close by. We are within an hour driving distance of my parents, and 2 hours from Micah's family. Life is sweet and just gets sweeter with each little life that is brought into this world!! Heavenly Father sure knows each one of us individually and what we need at each moment of our lives. And I am so grateful to know that.

Enjoy the pictures of Emily and Eliza looking pretty for the camera!!

Love Emily's Hands AND Eyes in this photo!!
2 week old Eliza looking more precious than ever!!

Eliza: "So, what do you think of all of this fashion show business?"
Emily: "Oh, I'm used to it by now. What ever happened to nap time, though?"

Emily: "Okay, just hold still and I will give you a head massage"
Eliza: "No problem!"

Our 1st Trip to Northern Virginia as a Family of 3!!!

This past weekend we decided to make the plunge and take our first overnight trip with Emily! I will have to admit I was aprehensive at first....how would she sleep? Would her cold get worse? What if we forgot something IMPORTANT? So many worries... but to our excitement and suprise the trip was fantastic and Emily was a real trooper! She slept in the portable crib at Mummis' house ALL NIGHT LONG! And her cold barely seemed to bother her. We had such a nice time too. We got to spend some time with Mummis, and Emily got to stay with her for several hours on Saturday morning while Micah and I got to get away to the temple! It was such a nice treat....for everyone!
Then Saturday afternoon some good friends of ours, the Murchisons, came over to visit with us and Emily (of course) since they hadn't seen her in person yet, but luckily they do get to keep up with her progress through our blog. Emily was in a pretty good mood for their visit, although she was getting a bit fussy towards the end since it was about her nap time! But we were able to take a few pictures before they headed off to their next stop.
That evening we headed over to Nathan and Sarah's house to visit and then to celebrate Joseph's 7th birthday! It was so fun to see everyone again! And Emily even got to meet her uncle Jacob for the first time (we were lucky enough to snap a picture of that Kodak Moment!). Overall we had a nice weekend and are looking forward to hopefully getting to do it again next month!!
Here are a few pictures from our weekend's journey and a precious video of Emily and Micah doing Itsy Bitsy Spider together!

Spending a Little Time at Mema's on a Saturday!

On Saturday, on our way back in to town from visiting with Jessie, Tanner, and Eliza, we stopped by Mema's for a short visit too! And what a treat, not only was Mema home, but Debra and Tede were visiting too, so Emily got to spend some unexpected time with her Mema and 2 of her great aunts (Tede deleted her picture from the camera, so that is why she is not pictured!).

Emily really enjoyed her day on Saturday and the attention that she got! Everyone had fun playing with her and she was all smiles all day long! All that smiling probably wore her out, which is probably why she slept the whole time we were at Red Lobster for lunch! She is such a sweet baby and she is really falling in love with the camera too; however, she is really starting to notice more things now too! She loves to look at colors and pictures on the wall ~ and we are having so much fun reading to her these days! She loves when I read scriptures to her in the morning and then we pull out some books from her shelf and she just lays back on her boppy and enjoys story time! We will have to get a video soon! Hopefully when daddy is home, it's always easier to get a video with an extra set of hands!

Here are some pictures from our visit at Mema's on Saturday!!!!

Great Aunt Debra LOVES spending time with Emily!

Emily Meets Her New Cousin, Eliza Lynn!

On Saturday, even though it was a bit rainy, we decided to go into town to meet Mommers and Dooders. They were going to visit Jessie, Tanner, and Eliza, so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Emily to her newest cousin! And of course, we had to do a little photo shoot!

Eliza was a sport, she was only 4 days old and we interrupted her morning snack....so all things considered, she was GREAT! And Emily was very interested in this new little baby! It was so cute, we could just imagine her giving Eliza some pointers about how to deal with all of these cameras flashing all around them, if only she could talk...but I am sure baby to baby they could understand each other perfectly!

It is so fun to have a sister going through all of the new mom phases as I am at the same time! And it will be fun to watch Emily and Eliza as they both continue to grow - and to watch the bond grow between them! Families are such an important part of Heavenly Father's plan and I am so grateful for our wonderful families!

Now here are a few pictures from Emily and Eliza's first meeting....Enjoy, I know we sure did!

Emily at almost 11 weeks and Eliza at almost 4 days old!

Another Close Up of the Beautiful Babies!

Me and Micah holding Emily and Eliza! I love how Emily is staring at Eliza in this picture! What sweet little girls!

We are having so much fun watching Emily grow! It was funny, Saturday morning before we went to visit with Jessie, Tanner, and Eliza, Emily seemed like such a little baby still, but after we got to their house Emily seemed so big! She is so beautiful and we love her so much and are so thankful to Heavenly Father for blessing our lives with such a beautiful little princess! Time is going by fast, but we are trying to enjoy each moment. I get so emotional when I think about her growing up, but I am so thankful to have this chance to be home with her and to watch her grow and develop and to help teach her things that she needs to know to be successful - right now we are working on turning over. She really has no interest in that yet - soon, I am sure. But for now we are captivated by her sweet smiles!

Speaking of smiles, here is a video that we took Sunday afternoon and it cracked me up! Hope you enjoy it! Emily is such a funny baby and doesn't even know it sometimes!! I love that girl!

Eliza Lynn Has Finally Arrived!

Jessie and Tanner gave birth to a sweet little baby girl on Tuesday March 10th at around 4pm. Jessie was a champ, did great with the labor and the delivery, and Tanner was a great husband and father and did exactly what was needed of him, and little Eliza came at the perfect moment.

Micah and I were fortunate enough to make it up to the hospital on Tuesday evening to meet our brand new niece and I am so glad that we took that opportunity. In addition to meeting Eliza, we got to see most of my brothers and sisters, so that was a nice treat! It is always wonderful to see everyone come together, especially for wonderful once-in-a-lifetime moments like these. I love seeing new babies born - I feel like I can look into their eyes and see straight to Heaven. I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who sent us to earth in families. Families are such an important part of our lives, and I am thankful to know that through the priesthood I am blessed to be sealed to my family for time and all eternity.

Without further ado.......here are some adorable pictures of our trip to see our newest family member, Eliza Lynn!

Emily all decked out in her new sunglasses, ready to go to the hospital to welcome her new cousin into the world (although Eliza and Emily haven't gotten to meet yet due to hospital rules, but hopefully they get to meet in just a few days!!)

Last Weekend's Adventures

We are a little bit behind on our blogging adventures, but we have been having them nonetheless. Last weekend we had a great time and Emily was able to see almost all of her great-grand parents so that was a nice treat! We had our first big road trip as a family of 3 too! We decided early last Saturday morning to head down to Shawsville, VA to visit with Micah's grandparents. Shawsville is about a 3 hour drive from Ruckersville. Emily did a great job! She slept most of the way. Last Saturday was also a beautiful day weather wise too. I think it was the first time Emily had ever really "seen the sun". It has been such a chilly winter and I have been such a paranoid mom that when she is outside she usually has a hat on and a blanket covering her until she gets to the car. But last Saturday it was about 80 degrees, so I decided to forgo the hat and the blanket, and she LOVED it! When we stopped at a rest area and got her out of the car she was so cute facing the warm wind. We love her so much, and she has brought so much love and joy into our family, and we are enjoying every minute of it!

Here are a few pictures to enjoy of our little princess......

She really does LOVE her bath time, but this was the first time we got her to sport her new bathrobe, and as you can tell she wasn't too sure about it!

Playing on the floor with Daddy! Love those Smiles!

Chillin' on the couch at Mommers and Dooders' house ~ She is sporting a new hat that her Mema made for her. Mema even thought to add a little tie so that we can fit the hat to her head better! Emily is definitely a hat girl! She loves her mema too...we just didn't bring the camera on this trip into town ~ too much for a mommy to remember sometimes!!

Laying down to show off her whole ensemble! Outfit from Great Aunt Gail and the same hat from Mema.....Emily loves Pink.....Just like her Mommy!

Visiting with Great Grandma Louise and Charlie! We had a nice time at their house, and Emily enjoyed being in her Great Grandma's arms and loved to stare at her when she talked to her!

Visiting with Great Grandpa Gray! This was his first time meeting Emily and he absolutely adored her! I love this picture!

We were even able to stop and visit with Grandma Ann! Emily really enjoyed all of the family time and all of the attention she got this weekend!

Dad and Jeannie invited us over for dinner on Monday night! We had a nice time even though Emily was having a bit of a fussy evening! It was fun, Emily's cousin, Avery, really enjoyed her, and in this picture she is staring up at her Uncle Tucker...she was checking him out since it was the first time that they had met each other. Tucker adored Emily too!!

Here is our little princess enjoying some time being propped up on her boppy! Just this week she has really been loving it when I sit her up on it! She LOVES to smile too! She is getting so big and we are LOVING every minute of it!

Out in the Snow!!

Winter weather was the story for this weekend in Virginia! We were excited about it too! Micah and I love the snow ~ love to play in it, love to watch it, love to talk about it, we just LOVE it! The only sad part was that it cancelled church for us on Sunday, which was a bummer because we haven't been for 3 weeks in a row now ~ since I was sick for the previous two!

It snowed a little on Sunday. Sunday night when we went to sleep it was snowing a bit and when we woke up Monday morning we found a winter wonderland outside! It was really nice! Micah was still able to make it to work and Emily and I stayed home and had fun watching the snow through the windows!

We waited for Micah to come home Monday afternoon and we decided to all bundle up and head out for a few fun pictures in the snow! Emily didn't like it too much because it was so cold, but she was a trooper for the few minutes we were out there so that we could take a few pictures! Even though it only lasted a few moments we enjoyed spending that time together in our winter wonderland! Plus Emily looks so cute in her snow suit we couldn't pass up another photo session!!!

Cold, but Excited to be together!!

One last photo before we ran back inside! It was SO COLD out!

2 Months Old!

As I mentioned earlier, we are back up and running again. Which means so are the blog posts!! It is hard to believe, but our little Emily turned 2 months old yesterday! These last two months have been very full, eventful, exciting and tiring all in one! But we love our little bundle more with every second! She is just so cute and so much fun to be around!!

Yesterday, in honor of her two month mark, Micah and I made a list of some of her accomplishments this month, and here is what we came up with:

~ She has learned to smile at people (and what a cute smile she has too!)

~ She has one of the most flexible tongues of any baby we have ever seen and she really knows how to work it! Her favorite thing to do is to imitate us when we stick our tongues out and move them around....it really is quite cute!!

~ She has become a little drooling queen, but mainly when she's getting hungry! We are going to have to pull out those bibs pretty soon, I am sure!

~She can also hold her head up for longer periods of time and it is not quite so wobbly.

~And since we are really trying to not give her a pacifier and we are discouraging her from sucking her thumb....her new trick is that she LOVES to suck on the back of her hand! It is so cute to hear her! We can always tell when she has found her hand, the sound is unmistakable!!

Since we spent the whole weekend at home together, just the 3 of us, we got to enjoy some fun family time. Since church was cancelled yesterday we stayed home and had our own fast and testimony meeting and then had Emily's photo shoot!

I also wanted to also share two more funny Emily moments from yesterday.... The first one was when Emily was sitting in her swing - she was being a little bit fussy and she had been changed and fed, and so we were just letting her work out her frustrations in her swing. Her hat was beginning to cover her eyes, so I thought I would add to her crying a little bit (I know, mean mommy) so I went ahead and pulled her hat down over both of her eyes! Micah and I were both waiting for the BIG SCREAM, but the next thing we knew she had fallen fast asleep!!! I guess she just wanted us to turn the lights out!!

The second story was similar in that she was crying again a little later, but this time it was a pretty deep and LOUD cry. Micah had her on his shoulder trying to console her, but she would have no part of it! Her crying became too intense and piercing for Micah to handle so he went and got one of his ear plugs to muffle the noise a little bit while he continued to console her. As soon as Micah popped that earplug in his hear and said, "There, now you can cry all you want to." She stopped.....no more crying! It was instantaneous!! I thought I was going to die laughing it was so funny! Micah thought it was pretty funny too! She is such a funny little girl already! It will be interesting to see what month 3 will bring, but for now enjoy some pictures of our little Sweet "P" at 2 months old!!
