Our Adorable One Year Old Haley Elizabeth!

I am a few days behind with this post, but my excuse is that BOTH girls have been SICK this week:( Emily has had the Stomach Flu for the very first time (and it has been pitiful) but she is ALL BETTER now:) And Haley has had a cold and for the last 2 days a fever:( However, both girls are doing MUCH BETTER now and they are enjoying a nice afternoon nap:)



Our Sweet Haley turned ONE YEAR OLD on Wednesday March 9th! And it is so hard for me to believe! She is one amazing little angel too! She is so full of life and energy. She loves all people...well almost all people. She adores her big sister. She loves to smile and she has some CRAZY hair (especially when we take down her pony tail holders:) But she has been the perfection addition to our family and we have become smitten with her over this past year! Haley has grown so much and has taught all of us so much in the process!



Here are some of Haley's Latest Tricks:

~ Although is in NOT a walker yet, she LOVES her little pink princess car and can REALLY GO anywhere with it!

~ Haley has been standing by herself here and there for a few seconds at a time

~ She has become a lot more vocal recently. She can say: Da, Ma, Bye Bye, Hi, Hot, That & What

~ Haley is also VERY loving! She LOVES her stuffed animals and LOVES to LOVE them! It really is the sweetest thing!

~Her favorite foods these days are: Cheerios Rice Chex, Bread, Grapes, and just recently Macaroni and Cheese, oh and she really likes Home Made Chicken Pot Pie too:)



Haley has been such a blessing to us and has made our family more complete! We love you Haley Boo, thanks for coming to our family when you did! It was the Perfect Time! Happy Birthday to our Sweet Baby!

Bye Bye Crib, Hello Big Girl Bed!

Our Sweet "P" is just getting to big to quickly!! And this weekend was just another stark reminder of that! Emily has LOVED her crib since she was tiny little newborn and so have we! Mimmi and Dooders bought it as a gift for us when we got approved as Adoptive Parents and then the very next month we found out we were expecting our sweet little Emily Marie! This bed has been THE BEST! And now it has been passed on to Haley to have many more happy sleeps in!

Neither Micah nor I were in any rush to get a big girl bed because we knew what it meant. MORE FREEDOM to Roam!! But 2 weekends ago we got this cute little toddler bed for ONLY $30 (and it came with the mattress) at a local consignment sale! And then we noticed that Emily started trying to hike her leg over her crib bars moreso than she had in the past. So this past Saturday we though it was time! So I bought a few little cute diecuts at the Dollar Tree to dress up her room a little (sorry I couldn't get any good pics of those) and Saturday Micah took the cribs apart and put the big girl bed together and SHE LOVED IT!! She sleeps all night in it and today she is actually napping in it, a first!! We are all excited for this momentous step in Emily's sweet little life and look forward to many many more!

Life has been keeping us pretty busy these last few weeks! We have been visiting friends and family, squeezing in dates, playing with the girls, getting new tenants for our basement apartment, Oh and Micah started his long awaited new job TODAY!!
Luckily we have had the chance to snap a few pictures along the way! But for today I chose a few of Haley to showcase her lovely hair style and her "go with the flow" personality!! This girl is AMAZING! She is loving, gentle and kind and she is going to be ONE YEAR OLD in a week and a day!!! It is so hard to believe that this past year has flown so quickly!! Life has been good to us and we are truly blessed!

I LOVE this little ELEVEN MONTH Old!

So, I am a few days behind on this post, but our little Haley Elizabeth turned ELEVEN MONTHS OLD on February 9th!! She is such a fun little girl!! And full of energy and just plain cuteness! She loves being the younger sister (for now) and getting all of Emily's love! And she is very good at recieving it too, no matter how rough it sometimes is! She is the most chill baby I have ever experienced. Except, that is, when it is nap time or night night time! Then she really lets it out! She loves to play, eat, try to walk, and play with Emily!
With all that Haley has been doing, she has also learned a few new tricks in her 11th Month:
~ She has FINALLY learned how to drink out of a sippy cup! And for this we are ALL grateful! It has been thanks to months and months of offering and switching cups, etc. But she finally recongizes it as something good and not just some foreign object coming at her:)
~ We have also been working on getting her to cry herself to sleep (aka: helping her learn how to self soothe), instead of having one of us have to pat her on the back until she is out cold! I must say she is doing MUCH BETTER with naps and night times!!
~She is also on the verge of walking! We have a little princess mobile that she really enjoys pushing all over the downstairs!! She can get anywhere she needs to go with that princess car too! She is a PRO!
~ She has also learned to give kisses and I must say it is the SWEETEST THING!! I love it when she hold on to my hair and plants a big wet one right on my face!!

Haley is really starting to blossom and grow and we are so excited to have her in our family and to be a part of her growth! She is an amazing little princess and we are so blessed that she is ours!!

Just Plain Cuteness!

I haven't gotten around to blogging much in the past few days because we are trying to work with Haley on her nap times. She has been used to being held or patted until she falls asleep and we are starting to realize that she has become dependent on it, meaning that she can't fall asleep AT ALL unless she is rocked until she is out cold! So we decided (with help and many phone calls to our pediatricians office) to allow her to cry it out! Our first day was Tuesday (2/8) she really resisted....cried for 2 Hours and 20 minutes and did NOT sleep AT ALL. Day 2 Wednesday (2/9) She cried for 2 hours even and then she was OUT! She slept for 1 hour and 20 minutes after that. And then TODAY, Thursday (2/10) she only cried for 25 minutes and then took a Hour and a Half nap:) We are Making Progress!! And Everyone is Happy! Now, that's our story!
But today, I wanted to share some adorable pictures of the girls that we have taken throughout the past week! They are so much fun and such Great Sisters!! We couldn't have asked for better daughters, we LOVE them to pieces!!
