Last Saturday, September 8, 2012, we lost power at 3pm, which was no problem UNTIL......we realized we were feeding the missionaries at 6pm, and we were planning to feed them meatloaf!!!!! For a good while we thought the power would just come back on and all would be fine......well, at about 5:30pm we realized the power still wasn't back on and all was indeed NOT fine, so we did some quick thinking and Micah came up with the amazing plan to build a fire in our tenant's grill (since we also didn't have charcoal) with an aluminum can and scraps of wood and cook the burgers and chicken nuggets (a first!) over the fire!! So, indeed that is what we did!! And let me be the first to say it was a Delicious Dinner!! It went really well, even with the small detail that Micah forgot to clue me in on until the missionaries were actually walking through the door, that indeed there were not two but THREE missionaries coming over for dinner! So, I quickly made one more patty and luckily we had a single hamburger bun left in the fridge as well as some chips, salsa and veggies left over that Micah's co-worker had given us the day before!! Everyone ate and everyone was filled, it's all about the tender mercies that Heavenly Father blesses each of us with daily, and for that rainy Saturday afternoon we were grateful to have seen our own personal tender mercy from our Father in Heaven!

We were really doing it!! Cooking on a Grill with wood!!!

Micah and the Grilled Burgers and Nuggets!
That food sure was yummy!!! None of us had ever had chicken nuggets on the grill before!
After dinner we all went out to the front porch just in time to see one of the most beautiful sunsets that we had ever seen!!! It was breathtaking! So grateful for the colorful beauty that surrounds us!
