Christmas.....Part 1!

Technically it is Part Two, since we celebrated Christmas with family and friends in Northern Virginia a few weeks ago, but either way.......Christmas Eve came and went way too quickly. I am sure grateful that we have lots of pictures to remind us about all of the fun that we had!
We got up on Christmas Eve morning and the kids were all excited, because they knew that TONIGHT was the night that Santa was coming!!! Needless to say this was a day FULL OF ENERGY, but it paid off because at the end of the night, when all was said and done, they were in their beds sleeping so fast because they knew that Santa was on his way:)
But between waking up and bed time, there was a lot of fun and excitement! We left the house around 11am and headed to Mimmi and Dooders for their Annual Christmas Eve Lunch!!! It was chock full of family, lots and lots of little kiddos, great food, presents, nice conversation, and of course pictures!!
We stayed about 2 hours and then headed to Mema's house to visit and exchange gifts. The girls had a blast when they opened their art set (Emily) and their princess play dough castle (Haley)!! They played contently the rest of the time there! We also ate some really yummy roast that Gail made, and seriously I need to write the recipe down for how she did it, it was so tender and juicy and the flavor was DELICIOUS!!
When we left Mema's the rain was coming down a bit, however we decided to ride by a cool house that had TONS of Christmas Lights (actually two houses side by side) on Monticello Road, when we pulled up we saw Santa coming out of his little house and waving to come in.....so rain or no rain we had to get out to see Santa!! The girls LOVED it!! Ethan slept through the whole thing, poor boy was tuckered out!!
Once we got home the kiddos played for a while, then it was bath time!! That night for scripture time we read the Christmas Story in Luke 2, as has been our tradition for many years. This year however the girls were in charge or re-assembling our Manger scene as Daddy read the story!! They did a spectacular job too, complete with sheep, goat, horse, etc!!
Then it was time to leave Santa a note and some cookies and hit the sack!! And all 3 kiddos knew the drill and went to bed so quickly and nicely! It was Fantastic!! Then Micah and I went to work, after all of our Santa duties were complete and cookies and milk were enjoyed we headed to bed around midnight, and waited for the sounds of our kiddos the next morning............
